THE 2026 TREASURY TECHNOLOGY MARKET MAP

Eight markets.
Three product types.

Treasury technology now spans eight overlapping functional areas. Enterprise platform, modular suite and specialist solution describe the type of product—not the treasury problem it solves. The right starting point is the client’s scope and requirements.

PREMIUM VENDOR INTELLIGENCE

Assess the market against your requirements.

The public index shows the products TRC tracks across eight functional areas. Products are cross-listed where they genuinely operate in more than one area. It is not a ranking or a substitute for assessing the market against your own requirements. Detailed assessments, evidence, comparisons and fit analysis are available through TRC.

We value our independence. TRC is funded by its clients and does not accept vendor sponsorship, paid placement, referral fees or commissions. This helps us keep our research independent while working constructively with vendors to understand and represent their products fairly and accurately.

THREE PRODUCT TYPES
Enterprise platform

One broad product environment covering several treasury activities, data, controls and workflows. It is commonly used for complex, multi-entity or multi-country operations. “Enterprise” describes breadth—not simply a product sold to a large company.

Modular suite

A family of connected treasury modules from one provider. A client can implement the capabilities it needs—such as cash, payments or forecasting—and add others over time. The degree of integration between modules must still be assessed.

Specialist solution

A product concentrated on one treasury activity, or a narrow group of related activities.

Every public vendor card uses the same format: Product type — product focus, followed by the functional market. Detailed capability coverage, evidence, limitations, comparisons and client-specific fit remain within TRC’s protected research.

TRC PRODUCTS

Build the case. Define what you need. Assess the market. Make a defensible decision.

Start with the decision that needs to be made. TRC helps turn the reason for change into a clear recommendation, supported by evidence, likely cost and expected outcomes. Once approved, those decisions carry through scope, requirements, vendor matching, Request for Proposal (RFP), evaluation and final recommendation.

Each stage matters because it informs the next. Together, they create a clear path from the original business need to a shortlist of suitable vendors, assessed against your agreed scope and requirements.

01 · START WITH THE CASE FOR CHANGEMake the case to act

Tell us what is driving the change — audit findings, operational risk, manual processes, contract expiry, business growth or other pressures. TRC turns that into a clear case for action, setting out the evidence, options, expected outcomes, indicative cost and decision required.

02 · DEFINE WHAT YOU NEEDWork out what matters

You do not need to have all the answers. We guide you through the project scope, current operating model and requirements so the need is understood before the market is approached.

03 · WE DO THE HEAVY LIFTINGWe make it clear

You give us the information. TRC structures your inputs and uses our research and matching model to identify systems that fit your requirements.

04 · APPROACH THE MARKETGo to market with confidence

When you are ready, we help structure the Request for Proposal (RFP) so shortlisted vendors are asked the right questions.

05 · YOU STAY IN CONTROLCompare and decide

We bring the responses, evidence, costs and risks together clearly. You make the final decision and can see the evidence behind every step.

01

ABOUT THE TREASURY RESEARCH COMPANY

Built by treasury professionals, for treasury teams leading change.

The Treasury Research Company (TRC) combines treasury expertise with independent research to assess the technology market against what your treasury actually needs.

01

Treasury expertise

Subject-matter knowledge across cash and liquidity, payments, bank connectivity, financial risk and treasury operations.

02

Treasury transformation experience

Experience turning treasury business needs into target ways of working, requirements, selection documents and practical change.

03

Independent perspective

A buyer-side view of the market, products and providers, shaped by client needs rather than universal vendor rankings.

We value our independence. TRC is funded by its clients and does not accept vendor sponsorship, paid placement, referral fees or commissions. This helps us keep our research independent while working constructively with vendors to understand and represent their products fairly and accurately.

WHY TRC EXISTS

Treasury teams deserve a decision they can explain.

Technology selections too often begin with vendor claims and end with a score that nobody can properly trace. TRC begins with you: how your treasury works, what must change and which evidence will prove that a product can deliver.

Your project is led by treasury and transformation professionals. TRC keeps clear accountability for project leadership, authorship, review and approval without publicly identifying individual contributors.

TREASURY SCOPE & REQUIREMENTS ENGINE · PROTOTYPE

Build requirements with line of sight.

Start with what the business is trying to achieve. Define the Treasury scope that supports it, and TRC brings forward the relevant requirements. Each requirement is already structured, reviewed against STAR and linked back to the scope and business objective.

PAYMENT CAPACITY · REQUIREMENT INPUT

Capture the payment volumes before creating PAY-004 and PAY-005

The client defines the expected volumes and the payment-processing window. TRC records those inputs and generates PAY-004 and PAY-005. Record individual payments, not payment files. Bank cut-offs are captured separately.

    ASSESSMENT PURPOSE

What is this assessment trying to achieve?

This assessment is intended to establish whether the current Treasury technology remains suitable and, if not, what type of solution would best meet the organisation’s future needs. The assessment will: • define the Treasury activities, entities, currencies and systems in scope; • document the business requirements that any future solution must support; • assess suitable technology options against those requirements; • consider implementation, integration, control and operational requirements; and • provide a clear, evidence-based basis for the final recommendation. The assessment does not assume that a particular system or vendor will be selected. This assessment has been initiated because [insert reason for review]. The objective is to [insert primary objective], while ensuring that the future solution supports [insert key business or Treasury priorities].

    OUT OF SCOPE

    Out of scope

Anything not explicitly identified as in scope within this assessment is considered out of scope. Any proposed addition to scope must be agreed through the project governance process before it is included.

    DEPENDENCIES

    What does this depend on?

This assessment depends on timely access to the information, people, systems and third parties needed to complete the work. Dependencies may include ERP and finance systems, banks, payment platforms, IT, cyber security, procurement, legal, external providers and other projects or programmes. Client-specific dependencies: [Add, amend or remove dependencies as required.]

    ASSUMPTIONS & OPEN POINTS

    Assumptions and open points

This assessment is based on the information available at the time it is prepared. Any assumptions used should be recorded and validated as the assessment progresses. Items that have not yet been confirmed should remain open until they are resolved.
